IRELAND’S KARAOKE STARS FLY HOME TO WARM WELCOME
Elaine O’Halloran and Sean Boland, winners of the paddypowerbingo.com Irish Karaoke Championship, arrived home from the Karaoke World Championships in Finland on Monday
with their heads held high.
The pair who jetted off to Finland last Wednesday to represent Ireland and compete with over 30 other countries on the world stage, were hotly tipped by Paddy Power to be crowned 2008 Karaoke World Champions, and while it wasn’t to be this year, their performances went down a storm in the Finnish City of Lahti.
Limerick local Elaine narrowly missed out on the top spot but finished 2nd in the World while Sean from Rathfarnham in Dublin finished in fourth place. This year’s Male Karaoke World Champion hailed from Australia while France produced this year’s female winner.
Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said: “Elaine and Sean are both winners in our eyes. They did a fantastic job representing Ireland in Finland. They really did us proud on the World stage and proved once again that Ireland are amongst the best in the World.”

The heats of the championships are held nationwide in ireland seeking out the best singers Ireland has to offer to represent karaoke Ireland
at the world championship.
The 2008 championship was held in Lahti, Finland, and was a huge success.
